"Best Present Ever" Pitchwork - 1
Some of you might know that the idea behind my graduation short "Best Present Ever" was optioned and pitched as a series by "Dinamo Productions" nearly 3 years ago.The project got some attention from broadcasters but unfortunately didn't get the backing needed for it to become a reality.
The silver lining to this, is that I've at last been given the go ahead to post the artwork from the pitch! I've got some fun designs and storyboards lined up to show you so check back! :)
I decided Sparky should be much bigger than he was in the short, as what's the point of having a pet dinosaur if you can't ride it around?
The unfamiliar character on the giant spider robot was a new addition, meant to be Dr Gloop's assistant. More on him later.

Both Clarabell and Sparky got re-designs! Clara needed to look older for the pitch, so she became taller with a slightly smaller head. I wasn't entirely happy with the eyes or the final colouring and planned to revisit them if the show was picked up.

Over the tracks part 1
There's 3 or 4 more parts on the way, but it's going to take a little longer than previously anticipated to get them done. This is due to some exciting side projects that have been hungrily consuming my free time. Can't say much about them yet, but watch this space!

"The Lingo Show" now on the telly!
I'm very pleased to present to you "The Lingo Show", a language learning preschool cartoon that I've been working on over at Dinamo for Cbeebies for the last 6 months. It was a blast to work on, as the the characters are quite quirky and charming and each have their own personality. Hopefully the kiddies will like it too!
I was lead animator and storyboard artist on the show, with my main duty being the song sequences. I boarded everything in the first episode, which is currently available to watch on BBC's iplayer :)
I'll post some more fun stuff from it later when more of the show has aired.

"Ha Ha Hairies" Character designs
The show has aired at last, so finally I can make a post about it. This is the first time I've done design/animation work for a Cartoon Network show so I'm pretty excited!
Over the past few months, I cartoonified the cast of a live-action show called the "Ha! Ha! Hairies" and animated them in about 35 short sequences. It was a lot of fun to work on, my favourites were Pa (Third from the left) and the dog with it's wiggly little toes.
The show is a live-action/CGi mix, with 2D animation representing the characters' thought bubbles. I'll post some of the sequences once more episodes have aired.
Ha! Ha! Hairies is now on airing on S4C (UK), and is coming soon to Cartoon Network's Cartoonito.
